Current Employer: Trapdoor Inc.
Current Position: Technical Artist
I am an FX artist with 7 years of experience in the video game industry. I’ve studied photography, electronic hardware conception, and 3D arts for video games. I started my working experience as a texture artist in 2005, quickly became a level artist, and established myself as an authoritative reference on tools, shaders, and proprietary engine technology for my peers. Seeing that I had a strong technical side, I chose to specialize in special effects, a position I have held since 2008. And now, I have evolved towards being a Tecnical Artist.
Today, along with production, I am the go-to guy when it comes to shaders, art optimisation of any sort, and general thinking out-of-the-box solutions. I offer daily support to 3D artists of all kinds with 3DS Max, Photoshop tips, shaders, and engine-specific tools and pipelines. I have a extensive experience with a wide variety of game genres, including licensed, franchised-based games and their very rigid requirements.
On a personal level, I am a cool headed, generally smiling individual. I am open-minded, resourceful, and quick learning. I’m liked by programmers for my technical side (I can speak a language they understand) and liked by other artists and designers because I can simply explain technical issues and find solutions or workarounds to help them make their ideas a reality.
